2003 Extraordinary prize of honour has been awarded Sally Hulugalle

Scheiblers Legat HEDERSPRIS 2003 has been awarded Sally Hulugalle.

The reason for awarding her this extraordinary prize of honour is her outstanding and dedicated work for mentally disabled persons in Sri Lanka. The NEST organisation established by her in 1984 and led by Sally Hulugalle since then, has contributed to a better life for thousands of persons in Sri Lanka.

Sally Hulugalle's work has especially improved the living conditions for "the forgotten women" of Unit 2 of Mulleriyawa Hospital.

Scheiblers Legat has decided to accompany the award with a donation to NEST to enable NEST to purchase a specified real estate property in the Moneragala district.
